BREAKING! David Mark, Tambuwal Lock Out Of Office In Abuja

Hundreds of protesters, who were wrongfully disengaged by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) stormed the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, in the early hours of Tuesday and grounded all activities, locking out the President of the Senate, David Mark, Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal, other lawmakers, staff and visitors to the complex.

Olufamous.com gathered that the angry protesters who stormed the assembly complex with sleeping mats, beddings and their kids, vowed not to vacate the premises until their demands were met.

They are, among other issues, demanding that President Goodluck Jonathan sack the DG of the NIMC, Chris Onyenema over the sack of over 4,000 staff without following due process, their reinstatement or payment of their full benefits.

According to some of the protesters, the disengaged and aggrieved workers of the commission decided to storm the National Assembly complex by surprise as their earlier peaceful visits and petitions to the National Assembly on their plight had not yielded any fruitful result.

Many of the lawmakers later trek several kilometers to get to their offices as all vehicles had no access into the complex. Funny enough, when both chambers of the National Assembly later resumed plenary, they didn't make any reference to the plight of the protesting workers.
Men of the Nigeria Police force are keeping an eye on the protesters.

Tragedy! Couple Killed with Wife's First Pregnancy After 13years Of Waiting

A woman, Toyin, who had waited for 13 years to get pregnant was crushed to death with her husband, Rotimi Olugbuyi, on Saturday in Ogun State. The couple were returning from Ibadan, where they had gone for a function, when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Rotimi was driving the family car and were a few kilometres to their home in Mowe around 5:30pm when one of the car’s tyres burst at Ogere area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

A family member, who pleaded anonymity because he was not empowered to talk on the incident, said the tyre of the car burst on motion and it subsequently somersaulted to the other side of the expressway.

He said, “There was a fast-moving trailer heading for Ibadan on the other side. The trailer crushed the car, killing the occupants. It was really a gory sight as Rotimi and Toyin were crushed to pieces by the trailer. Their remains were gathered by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps.

“The FRSC officials used the contacts they found on their telephone set to inform us about the sad event.”

There were long faces at the Ministry of Information on Monday as the expectant couple were information officers in the ministry. Colleagues lamented that the accident happened at the time God was answering the couple’s prayer for a child.

One of them said, “They were married for 13 years but had no children. We were happy for them when we learnt that Toyin was about three months pregnant. They were very nice people."

What Is This Newly Married Woman Doing Here?

My goodness! What is this lady up to? Is this how to show your in-laws and invited guests that you're a good wife? When does drinking beer become 'a thing of pride' for new wives?

The lady who sent this photo to Olufamous.com said her worry is:
"What kind of marriage would this woman and her husband have, especially if the husband too is good in the business of beer drinking? Won't there be too much irresponsibility in their home?"
What do you think about this lady's act on her wedding day...?

Actor/Politician RMD on the Run over N50m Fraud; EFCC Arrests Accomplice

Philo Nkem Ajufo, the acting General Manager of Delta State Tourism Board, has been detained by the EFCC over her role in a financial scam. Ms. Ajufo is being quizzed for conniving Actor turned politician, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), to embezzle N50 million from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

EFCC sources say RMD who is the Commissioner for Culture and Touring, is being sought by the anti-corruption agency, but he has been elusive. He is believed to be on the run.

Below is how an EFCC official confirmed the arrest of RMD's accomplice...
“As we talk, the Delta State Tourism GM, one Mrs. Nkem Ajufo, is been held in our headquarters here in Abuja over her involvement in the N50 million fraud.
Her boss, Mr. Richard Mofe Damijo, is not left out but as we speak he is still avoiding us.”
Two sources at the ministry told our reporter that the EFCC last week delivered a letter inviting Ms. Ajufo to appear at their headquarters. She was asked to bring along relevant documents concerning the N50 million that was meant for the purported 2007 Delta Expo event which never held.

The sources disclosed that RMD went underground on learning about the current development.

One source told our reporter that the commissioner, who is reported to be building himself a massive underground edifice in Lagos, was trying to use political contacts in Delta and Abuja to scuttle the EFCC’s investigation and washed his hands off the scam.

It was learnt that RMD denied knowledge of the money during the budget defense exercise.

Several calls and sms texts sent to Mr. Damijo and Ms. Ajufo’s mobile lines were not answered. After a while, the commissioner switched off his mobile phone.

Recall that last year, news broke of the N50 million allegedly embezzled by RMD, a serving commissioner and the acting GM of the state’s tourism board.

Seven Men Sentenced to Death For Raping 14-Year Old Girl

Seven men in Sudan found guilty of drugging and raping a 14-year-old girl were sentenced to death by hanging on Monday, reports say. The victims’ lawyer, called the sentence “more than just”.

Speaking to the AFP, the lawyer Salma Mohammedahmed Hamed said Judge Ahmed Khalil Albahar ruled on the case on Sunday at a court in Khartoum’s twin city of Omdurman, also sentencing six other minors who abused the girl to 10 years each in a reformatory. Cases of gang rape are rare in the Islamist-run state.

“He found them guilty by the evidence he received of raping a child,” he said. All 13 of them abused her. “They gave her a cup of juice containing drugs and then raped her,” Hamed said. In his verdict, the judge cited a presidential directive calling for heavier punishments of sex crimes. Hamed said the girl was treated at a rape trauma centre and has returned to school.

15/02/2013 Valentine Tragedy: Lovers Die In Swimming Pool In Delta

Tragedy struck, yesterday, in Asaba, Delta State when two lovers reportedly drowned in a swimming pool of a popular Hotel.
Sources claimed that the said hotel (name withheld) has been a base for love birds during festive periods especially Christmas and New Year.
Sources reliably gathered that the ‘love birds’ had resolved in the early hours of the day to swim after drinking at the hotel(s) pool side, against the boy’s mother’s advice.
Sources further gathered that the boy, a highly placed, “Asaba yuppee” had been having problems with his step mother who allegedly placed a death curse on him.
But his friends who disagreed with the story said he died on deaf ears.
While they were at the hotel, our informed sources said they both dived into the pool and soon after started shouting for help to no avail.
Police spokesman in the state, ASP Famous Ajieh confirmed that the owner of the hotel including some of the workers were being interrogated and added that the corpses of the victims were taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) mortuary

My Fiance Poured Hot Stew on Me – Mary Sunday

A 27-year-old woman, Mary Sunday, has been in the hospital bed at Igbobi Orthopaedic Hospital seven months after she was allegedly attacked by her fiancé, Corporal Isaac Gbanwuan, with a pot of boiling stew and a lighted stove.

It was learnt that Sunday had lost her ears due to the attack.

Before the attack, which took place in August 2012, Sunday, was to report for training at the Police Academy, Kano as a cadet officer.

Still nursing severe burns to  her neck, chest and upper arms, Sunday can barely sit or walk straight. She holds her head stiffly and talks with difficulty as she recalled the events that led to her present state to PUNCH Metro on Wednesday.

She said, “I have known Gbanwuan for a while, while I was still a student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, but it wasn’t until our marriage introduction in 2011 that I moved in with him at the Pedro Police Barracks, Lagos.

“On the day I was assaulted, Gbanwuan and I went to see our doctor. We had some health issues. While we were on our way back home, I made a phone call. Immediately we got home, Gbanwuan started querying me. He accused me of keeping lovers and claimed the person I called was my lover.

“I tried to explain to him that it was my sister I called, but Gbanwuam was not listening. He began to beat me,” Sunday said.

Unable to take it any more, Sunday said she ran into the kitchen of a neighbour with Gbanwuan giving pursuit. He allegedly broke into the kitchen where he continued to assault Sunday.

She said, “Then to the horror of those who tried to intervene, Gbanwuan seized his neighbour’s cooking stove on which was a pot of boiling stew, emptying the entire contents on me.

“I don’t know for how long I was unconscious but I was later told that I was in a coma for seven days. I learnt the stove also exploded after Gbanwuan threw it with the boiling soup at me.

“I was first rushed to a private hospital at Bariga before I was eventually transferred to Igbobi hospital.

“I couldn’t tell my family for a while because I could not use my hands; they were sort of stuck to my chest. It was after much treatment, that I was able to use my hands and call my family.”

Sunday’s lawyer, Mr. Moses Kassim, told PUNCH Metro that a petition had already been sent to the Police Provost Office and the Commissioner of Police.

He said, “We have still not received any response from either of them. Gbanwuan is yet to be arrested despite the fact that Sunday’s family reported the case at the Pedro Police Division.

“While Sunday is confined to a hospital bed, Gbanwuan is still at his duty post at the Ebutte Ero division, showing no concern for her condition.”

Copies of the acknowledged petition received by the Provost Office and Commissioner of Police were dated January 17, 2013.

When PUNCH Metro contacted Gbanwaun, he denied causing any harm to his fiancée.

He said, “What Sunday has told you are all lies. She has been going about saying all sorts of things about me.

“That is how she wrote a petition through her lawyer to the Lagos State Police Command. Anyway, the matter is already being investigated by the command.”

When our correspondent  sought his opinion on how Sunday got her injury that had kept her in the hospital, the policeman said, “I don’t know what to tell you. Like I said, the matter is being investigated.

The Lagos Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Damascus Ozoani, said he was yet to be fully briefed on the issue.

He said, “I don’t have all the facts right now. Let me investigate and I will respond to the story.”

But Sunday said she was more concerned with getting well.

She said, “All I want is the money to treat myself. My doctors are afraid to tell me how much because they don’t want me to be worried, but I have overhead them discussing several times.

“There is a deep wound in my chest which has to be treated and then my neck has to be operated on because it has been stiff since the incident and then there is the matter of my upper arms.

“The doctor, who attended to me at the first hospital I went to in Bariga, told me that I would have to go to India to have my ears reconstructed because they melted. He said I would need N5m.

“Gbanwaun’s family has abandoned me. They did so immediately my family reported the matter to the police. My mother is dead and my father is aged. Coping with my daily treatment here is a struggle for my siblings.”

Widow killed by her lover for money ritual

36 year old widowed mother of three Kafilat Lateef was killed by her lover Gbenga Taiwo and four of his friends on January 21. After killing her, they put kola nut in her mouth and buried her in a shallow grave. (Her charred remains above) Read the full story after the cut...

Kafilat Lateef was a young woman of 36 years. Widowed five years ago and left with three children, she must have felt the absence of a companion which made her yield to the love overtures of Gbenga Taiwo, then a plank seller at Bodija market, Ibadan. Their paths had crossed over two years ago, as she was also a trader in foodstuffs at the same market.

Happy that she had found love again, Kafilat put in all she had into the relationship. Her family members were also happy that she was looking bright again. Putting her trust in the man she had had intimacy with several times since their relationship started, Kafilat did not think twice when Taiwo called her on January 19 , inviting her to Oyo town, where he had relocated since 2012. She returned to Ibadan on January 20 and went back to Oyo on January 21. He reportedly told her to come for the N50,000 he promised her.

Happy that she would be seeing her lover again, she went to Oyo, and when her sister called her later, she told her that she was with Taiwo at Idi Ope area of Oyo. She was given food and drinks, which she took with happiness, not knowing that she was drinking to her own death. Unknown to her, her drink had been laced with drug, which sent her to sleep, from where she slipped to death.

Information gathered from her lover, Taiwo, who had been arrested along with four others in connection with Kafilat’s death, revealed that immediately she became unconscious, the loverboy and his friends, Afeez Kareem and Lukman Ganiyu, who had already planned her death, clubbed her on the head with a dagger, after which they put a kolanut in her mouth and buried her in a shallow grave already dug for the purpose.

The act was carried out in a house where Ganiyu was working as a security guard.

Source learnt that Taiwo was hellbent on becoming wealthy, not minding the means through which that would be achieved. He had reportedly approached an Islamic cleric, Mohammed Saheed, that he was interested in money ritual. Saheed claimed that he told Gbenga that he could not do such but gave him an alternative which could also yield money if done.

Saheed reportedly told him to put a kolanut in the mouth of the corpse of an elderly man or woman and bring it the following day after the kolanut must have dropped from the corpse’s mouth. To quicken the process, Gbenga decided to employ the services of prostitutes which he would kill to achieve his aim.

“However, when I approached prostitutes, I could not afford what they said I would pay if they should sleep in my house overnight. That was why I decided to make use of one of my numerous female friends,” Taiwo said. He further confessed that he tried two other lovers. He gave the names of his other lovers as Mama Iroko who came to him from Iroko, a surburb of Oyo town, and Mama Dada, a trader at Gbagi market whom he invited from Ibadan.

He disclosed that while Mama Iroko did not sleep after her drink was laced with drug, Mama Dada suspected his motive, especially when she noticed the shallow grave that was dug. According to him, “she did not sleep throughout the night and when it was daytime, she asked me whether it was good for me to think evil towards her. She left thereafter.”

Unfortunately, Kafilat became the victim, as she fell asleep after her drink was laced with drug. The following morning after she was buried, her suspected killers went to the graveside to take the kolanut as expected but to their consternation, there was none. They scrapped the earth off the remains and saw the kolanut still in the mouth of the corpse.

When the trio saw that their plan had not worked, they reportedly decided to dismember her remains after severing the head. They allegedly burnt the pieces and buried them in another shallow grave by a dumpsite behind the house where the dastardly act was committed. Taiwo confessed to the police that he took the head to a herbalist, one Adeyemi Adedokun a.k.a. Baba Agbadu to use it for money ritual for him.

Adedokun, however, denied being given the head, though he admitted that Taiwo brought the head to his house.

Also, Mohammed Saheed from Ilesa-Baruba in Kwara State, whom Taiwo alleged to have asked him to bring kolanut, denied telling him to kill someone, saying he was only tring to help. Saheed, who said he was a Quranic teacher, told Source , that Taiwo came to him for money ritual but claimed that he told him he was not into such things.

Saheed added that Taiwo also brought his friends Afeez and Lukman, who also wanted to do charms for authority and favour respectively.

According to Saheed, “I told him what our forefathers used to do with kolanut from the mouth of an elderly dead person, saying that if this is done, it would be found by the graveside by the following day.

“ I also told him that the deceased’s spirit would try to resist the kolanut being taken but if it could be forcefully taken, it would be used for a charm that would be bringing any fortune from wherever one may want.

“Three days after, he came back with the kolanut but told me that he did not find the kolanut by the graveside, so he had to exhume the corpse to take it.

“I sent him away that I would not be involved in such a thing because I had already told him that the kolanut should not be used on exhumed corpse, an accident victim or someone deliberately murdered.”

Sunday Tribune further gathered that Taiwo was a wanted suspect in Oyo State Police Command in relation with cases of robbery in which he was involved. He was said to have abandoned his wife and only child, relocating to Oyo from Ibadan immediately he knew there was a manhunt for him.

Police sources also told Tribune that Taiwo’s father had already disowned him as a result of the robbery cases he was allegedly involved in, unknown to him that he would still commit another crime. The father, Mr Joseph Taiwo, is said to be the pastor of God’s Foundation Church at Jakan area of Agbowo, Ibadan.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku who is currently investigating the case, Mrs Janet Agbede, told Sunday Tribune that policemen comprising of Oyo SARS operatives, detectives from CID and Durbar Division set to work when Kafilat’s family reported the case of their missing relation, after efforts to locate Kafilat proved abortive. The family members had told the police that two days after Kafilat left for her lover’s place in Oyo, her line was not going through.

They added that they later received a call from Kafilat’s line telling them that she had an accident in Lagos and was hospitalised in a general hospital but was disappointed when all efforts to locate Kafilat in any Lagos hospital proved abortive.

Describing the act of the suspects as callous and despicable, Mrs Agbede, advised women to be wary of men they regard as lovers so that they would not fall victim to evil-minded persons. Tribune gathered that a pathologist has told police that the charred remains of the deceased would have to be taken abroad for autopsy and DNA. The cost was put at N1 million.

The actor and former addict tells how TB Joshua rescued him from alcohol, drugs and the mental problems that plagued him for many years in a recent interview. Hanks battled alcohol and drug addiction for years and his mental state deteriorated over time. The former SA to Delta governor, Uduaghan, who has since relocated to Ghana tells his story...
"Yes I got my healing through TB Joshua. It is our Lord's doing. I never believed in miracles until this happened to me. I was having issues with mentality for over seven years, you will notice I have not been that frequent in movies for long. Even when I was special assistant to our dear governor, I was not in a good state of mind and this affected my work in the government before I was advised to seek for solution in Ghana. I spent so much money visiting hospitals, orthodox and unorthodox doctors without positive result. Until I was introduced to TB Joshua. I was only watching his TV programme in Ghana and was healed. I put my faith into it just like the woman with the issue of blood and knew that I would be healed and I got my healing. I am now a mentally stable man. I have dropped drinking and smoking habit, glory be to God."

Actress Foluke Daramola moves in with married lover, Kayode Salako

Kayode is still legally married but has been separated from his wife for a while now. He and Foluke started dating about a year ago and are now living together. The couple moved into a duplex in Omole Estate on Friday February 1 and called friends and family to a small house warming party.

His wife of 13 years, who has three children for the CEO of Change Agent of Nigeria Network, packed out of her matrimonial home about 6 months ago after she found out about the relationship between Foluke and her husband. Kayode has since said that God set him free from '13 years of marital bondage, confusion, frustration and regrets.'

When asked why he abandoned his wife and three kids, Kayode replied:
I didn't abandon my wife and kids; they abandoned me. My wife abandoned me for Foluke to take over. In my family, it's an abomination for a woman to pack her things and leave her husband's house, if it's not the man that sent her out. What she did has confirmed she's not my destined wife. Foluke now lives with me in Omole Phase 1

RIP Goldie. Her label Kennis Music release official statement

Statement from the CEO of Kennis Music, Kenny Ogungbe pictured above with the late singer

“With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey. Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after she complained of a severe headache shortly after her arrival from the United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award. She was rushed from her Park View, Ikoyi, Lagos residence to her official hospital, Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival at exactly 7:30pm in the evening.
We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian music industry in view of the circumstance in which she passed away; the abundance of talent she exhibited in her short but eventful music career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of America would have availed her. She is survived by her father, step- mother, brothers and sisters. We deeply sympathise with her family and fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially, the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage. We shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are devastated by the sudden loss.”
Goldie's remains has been deposited at the mortuary. I'm not blogging today...will only bring you update about her untimely demise. Let's use the whole day to mourn her. Goldie and I recently became friends after she called me for a heart to heart. She was also best friends with one of my best friends, Denrele. RIP, angel. Only God knows why this happened.
